Woke up in the morning to find this little gal in my slipper. Guess she thought it was warm and cozy too.

AHHH! I’m all atingle now.
You end up checking your slippers every morning for a year after something like that.
Haha! Yeah. *looks up at the ceiling to the spot I last saw a spider*
Wow! She’s a pretty little thing isn’t she? *shivers* Spiders scare the sense out of me sometimes. I don’t like them at all, but I still think some are pretty. What kind of spider is she?
Do you know, I’d never even considered checking out the species. At best guess she’s a Giant House Spider (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_house_spider); a kind of BFS (Big Friendly Spider). Their appearance is one of the things that really fascinates me; just looking at and observing them, you really become aware of a kind of intelligence very far removed from our own. Sadly, she was actually in poor shape, and died not long after the photo was taken. I suspect she was just old.
