The construction of one the best architects in the world.

I woke on a misty September morning to find the beginnings of a web, started fresh in the night. The photo didn’t come out too well, but it astonishes me that a spider managed to stretch its silk over five feet from the bush to the hedge.

I love spiders and spider webs, but it looks like this guy caught more than he expected. Where’s the rest of the bird?

Spider silk and spikes.

One of the multitudinous aloe plants in our conservatory at the time. A spider clearly didn’t mind the points, and thought it would be a good place to catch food. It was probably right.
