Late Italian evening.
Credit to this gorgeous image goes to my wife; she took this at a conference she was attending in Italy at the time, outside of Genoa. Sometimes I wish I was a stressed out, under appreciated, under funded and student-berated research professor, just so I could be sent to these places.
The northern sunsets are subtle, but beautiful.
Our house during this time was wonderful; nestled in the countryside, with wonderful views on all sides. I particularly enjoyed the sunsets; although not as vibrant as those nearer the equator, there is a gentleness and nobility about the lavenders and magentas.

We spent a beautiful night in a small town on the Delaware, just the wife and I. As we set out for the evening, we were treated to the most spectacular sunset. We were treated to a tempestuous thunderstorm later on.
