Perky!

The aloe bloom starts as a tiny bud that sprouts into an enormous shoot. At that point it branches out and produces these beautiful flowers that will eventually droop downward to release their pollen.

The droop of an aloe flower.

Towards the end of the aloe flower’s bloom it droops downward and opens. The pollen is colorful, and stains almost as badly as lilies.

Near the Montauk Point Lighthouse can be found a broken and abandoned bunker built during World War II. Never used, never preserved.
