History Review

History Digital CoverI just checked into Goodreads tonight, and discovered that my giveaway of The Redemption of Erâth: History of Erâth has started to bear some fruit! I have a new review of the book, short but sweet:

This is a prequel to the Redemption of Erath series. It relates a brief but interesting history of this land and the battles between the forces of good and evil that exist there.

They rated it three stars, which I’m honestly pleased with; I knew the History of Erâth book wasn’t going to necessarily be a crowd-please—after all, it has minimal plot, and does read like a recounting of events, rather than a cohesive story with a beginning, middle and end.

Still, it’s nice to have reviews and recognition of any kind, and I’m glad they found it interesting. Here’s to more reviews to come!

Is It Ever Too Late?

I love Depeche Mode. In particular I love their sad songs, and for me there is none sadder than Blasphemous Rumours, from 1984.

I don’t want to start any blasphemous rumours
But I think that God’s got a sick sense of humour
And when I die, I expect to find him laughing

If you listen to the whole song through, it’s a story of sadness, regret, irony and tragedy. A girl tries to girl herself, fails, and then finds redemption only to be hit by a car and killed.
